Mr. Hyun is responsible for overseeing Octave Japan’s real estate investment and asset management businesses. He has over 15 years of experience in real estate and investment banking. Prior to Octave, Mr. Hyun was the head of acquisition and financing for a US-based real estate PE firm and was responsible for real estate financing and securitization at a Japanese bank and Deutsche Bank. Mr. Hyun earned his B.A. in the faculty of business and commerce from Keio University. He speaks fluent Japanese, Korean, and English.

Mr. Morimoto manages existing real estate assets and sourcing new transactions. Before joining Octave, Mr. Morimoto was a Senior Analyst in the Real Estate Advisory Team at Deloitte Tohmatsu Financial Advisory LLC (DTFA), where he consulted on various types of real estate-related transactions, including research, brokerage, and due diligence support. He began his career at KW Investment Co., Ltd. in asset management of residential assets. While at GALILEO JAPAN K.K. and Diamond Realty Management Inc., he gained significant experience in acquiring, managing, and disposing of all types of real estate assets (residential, retail, office, hotel, logistics, and industrial). Mr. Morimoto earned his B.A. in Finance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Mrs. Serizawa is responsible for the asset management of real estate and solar investments. Before Octave, she was at QC Asset, a domestic real estate AM specializing in retail asset management. Mrs. Serizawa started her real estate career at Daikyo Anabuki RE. She supported the condominium brokerage team and then moved to Capital Servicing, where she was a member of the asset management team covering serviced apartments and hotels for various funds. Mrs. Serizawa is a licensed real estate broker in Japan.

Mr. Kim founded Octave Japan in 2009 to create an alternative investment management platform to focus on principal investments in private equity, venture, and real estate in Japan. Under Mr. Kim’s leadership, Octave Japan grew to manage over USD 1 BN of assets and advise on over USD 2 BN in M&A transactions. Mr. Kim has approximately 25 years of experience in investment banking and principal investing. Mr. Kim received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago.

Josh's career has included significant time both in private practice at international law firms and front office positions at global financial institutions. Josh was the head of Japan for the Partner Asset Facility at Credit Suisse, a real estate debt and special situations fund that grew investor equity to approximately US$1.9 billion. Josh has extensive experience in commercial real estate financing, asset management, and securitization in Asia, particularly Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong. Josh holds degrees from UC Berkeley and Yale Law School.

Mr. Tanimoto has held significant posts in the Japanese government as an LDP party member. Most notably he was the Deputy Minister of the Cabinet to Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda (2008) and Parliamentary Secretary of the Cabinet Office under Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (2006). Mr. Tanimoto also served as Secretary to Toshihiro Nikai, a leading member of the LDP.

Mr. Takishima has over 15 years of experience in business development with private companies and startups. He has overseen cross-border teams in the UK, Japan, and other regions of APAC, where he led turnaround projects and M&A activities. Mr. Takishima currently serves as the CEO of Evia Life Sciences. He earned his MBA from Hult International Business School and a B.A. in Hospitality Management from Les Roches.
